For many, 2016 was a banner year for innovation and technology advancements, mergers and acquisitions, and strengthening partnerships across the channel. For Oncam in particular, 2016 brought many successes, technology developments and some great memories.
Oncam launched its new A&E and Consultant Program in April this year, which successfully debuted around ISC West 2016 in the spring. The program provides planning and support services to architects, engineers and security consultants focused on the video surveillance market.
2016 also saw growth in the Oncam organization with the addition of Paul Burke as VP of Product Management for Cloud and Applications; Claudia Barosso, Product Marketing Manager; Regional Sales Directors Tom Sinciro, Jeff Oakie and JC McKetterick; Daniel Elvin, Sales and Business Development Manager; and Ragini Sidhu, Global HR Manager.
One of the highlights of this year was the recognition of the Evolution 12 camera line as a 2016 New Product of the Year, as awarded by Security Products Magazine. The award was announced during ASIS International in September. September also brought several new form factors to our repertoire, with the recessed camera model in both the Evolution 05 and Evolution 12 camera lines, which is ideal for applications where aesthetics are critical.
Oncam also played a critical role in the successful deployment of a comprehensive surveillance solution for Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, which uses the technology to combat fraud and optimize business operations. Oncam was also instrumental in providing rapid ROI and improved safety to a leading logistics company, a British secondary school looking to protect its IT equipment, and Zumre Gas Station in Istanbul. These case studies and demonstrations of Oncam technology at work were instrumental in the success Oncam saw during Retail Risk Dubai in November.
In early November, Oncam launched its latest and most exciting form factor for its 360-degree panoramic camera technology, the Evolution 12 and Evolution 05 Stainless Steel Camera form factor. This development opens up new possibilities in more extreme camera applications that require heavy wash-down or exceptional resistance to corrosion – such as food processing areas, industrial and chemical plants, vehicle wash stations, ports and marine applications.
